Jumping Jack Jumping Jack

This gag shot was posed during mixes of "Pandemonium Shadow Show"--Harry's head (the first HarryHead???) pops out from behind the portable vocal/percussion booth. One foot belongs to engineer Dick "Knobs" Bogert, and the other foot belongs to his arranger and partner at "Vine St. Music", George Allison Tipton, who produced Harry's first album at his own expense and who backed the first few albums with time and talent.

This was Derek Taylor's favorite photo of Harry. It was Derek who brought Harry to the Beatles' attention. When RCA refused to give him a carton of the new LP to give out as PR for Harry, he simply bought a carton with his own cash and brought them around, including one copy to the Beatles, who, except for Paul, listened to it stoned on acid for something like 27 hours, then called Harry and told him he was "f-ckin' great, man".

Harry of course didn't believe that it was John talking to him on the phone, and demanded proof. John said, "Can't you hear the long-distance, man???" That was proof enough for Harry.
